Umair Munam

Research Assistant

Umair is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, Scarborough. He is double majoring in Conservation & Biodiversity and Political Science. Their academic interests include the environmental impact of mining rare earth minerals and the associated implications for Indigenous relations with the Canadian state.


In his final undergraduate year, he aspires to lay a foundation for exploring the intersection of biodiversity conservation, sustainable economic development and Indigenous issues for potential deeper exploration in graduate studies.
